Blooming Lovely

I have been lucky enough to have spent a long relaxing weekend by the coast this weekend. It was absolutely idyllic, although the truly british weather left a little to be desired, it didn't dampen my spirits one bit. When the sun broke I was able to take in this incredible English country garden from which you can hear the sea crashing just beyond. Magical.

This garden reminded me of a shoot I did recently where the blooms dotted around the studio where so pretty I snapped a quick shot.

This shot reminded me of my trip to Tokyo where I took a picture of the most beautiful windows I have seen in a long time, they featured two of my favourite things, peonies and vintage luggage.

This shot reminded me of one of MAC's new summer looks, which is girly and fresh with an almost retro feel.

And this reminded me that I had to tell you, my go to product of the moment is MAC Cremesheen Glass in 'partial to pink'. It is such a wearable shade and will give literally any skin tone a really pretty natural pout.

Meow

I couldn't let today pass without quickly introducing you to this. Dolce and Gabbana have launched a limited edition bronzer in their Animalier range.

The best bit? It is pressed in the classic Dolce and Gabbana trademark pattern, Leopard print. A deliciously sultry summer evening concoction of various golds, peaches and bronzes totally in keeping with their sexy after hours aesthetic. I am in love.

Go on it'll look gorgeous on you.

Pretty little packages

I am busy working on an exciting new project with L'oreal at the moment, which has taken up most of my time over the last few days. However I did have time to pop into a sweet little make up store just off London's famous Carnaby St in Soho called pixi. This brand designed by make up artist Petra Strand, always grabs my attention particularly as I am a total sucker for pretty Packaging and what seems to be their signature scent, violet.

This brand has cute details in abundance, with the miniature palettes perfect for taking your look from day to night without carrying too many products in your make up bag. The pigment is strong and easily blended whilst the neutral colours and tones are easily mixed and matched for looks ranging from a natural, minimal make up, to dramatic smokey eyes.

Most of the products in this range are designed cleverly for convenience. The illuminating tinted moisturiser has a creamy stick concealer in the lid. With SPF20 it is definitely on the lighter side of the coverage scale and is suitable for young or fairly blemish free skin types and those who prefer a very subtle base. Perfect for summer wear.

The lip twin packaging works in the same way as the illuminating tint and concealer, with the gloss in the tube and a lipstick in the lid. The nice thing about the product in the lid is that it can also be used on the cheek. This is the same with many lipsticks so have a little look through your favourite shades and you may discover your perfect creme blush is hiding somewhere in your lipstick collection. When it comes to doing my own make up I always love multifunctional products for a simplified routine.

(I am not affiliated with nor have I been paid by pixi for this little review...just so you know!)

Summer Loving

Here are just a few things happening at the moment that are rocking my world. Firstly well done YSL for at last adding four new darker shades to the legendary product Touche Eclat. This is a staple in both my kit and my personal make up bag, however many versions of this I try I always end up going back to this old favourite. Although some alternatives that I also adore are Clarins and Terry. This is a step in the right direction for the luxury make up market in terms of adding diversity to their ranges, and in my humble opinion a small step that is long overdue.

Mulberry are celebrating their 40th anniversary this year and in honour of the occasion are releasing this beautiful book. It took almost three years to produce and is worth every moment as far as I am concerned. It is quirky yet luxurious, and I expected nothing less form the iconic British label.

I am looking forward to a copy residing on my coffee table, what a chic welcome addition.

This image from the book is absolutely stunning, I love the prettiness and wistfulness of the colour palette and the soft glorious blooms, opposed with the guys behind the camera sporting some awesome ink and plaid.

I have to admit that I have something of an eyewear obsession, wether for reading or hanging out in the sunshine I always have a pair or two in my bag. These by Tom Ford are incredible, not to mention the hair and make up which is perfection. I would love to add this no less fabulous but slightly toned down pair to my growing collection.

One of the things I love about the season changes are the new collections that the make up houses put out, NARS have released this mini range which is perfect if you are going somewhere super fabulous for you summer vacation yet equally appropriate for barbeques with best friends in back yards.

Talking of vacationing somewhere fabulous, this will be a stop on my summer trip which is now in full planning swing. With not all stops being quite so glamourous I can't wait to share the details with you, although at the moment it is still so far off and with so much yet to finalise, I will just leave you with some eye candy to help daydream of far away places (well far from London anyway).
